Drawing Techniques

Seven basic Stroking Techniques
Line Drawing:

A line drawing is a sketch of an object, that shows all of the shapes, shadows, and highlights, of the object that are shown in a very simple outline. Also, in this simple sketch the texture of the object whatever it may be will not be shown, or represented.
Contour Lines:

Contour lines are smoothly drawn lines, that seem as though they wrap around the surface of the object that they are depicting. This type of line is one of the many ways to give an object a three-dimensional appearance.
Parallel Lines:

Parallel lines are the type of lines that should be as straight as the human hand possibly can draw them, and they should also extend in the same direction at the same angle. With these lines you a can be as accurate or as precise as you want to be.
Crosshatching:

Crosshatching is the type of stroke in which two or more sets of contour lines, or parallel lines that are stroked in different directions, and also they intersect.
Stippling:

Stippling is a series of dots, produced by touching the pen nib or pencil tip to the paper, while the pen or pencil is held in a vertical position. When using the technique, stippling, know that it is the most time consuming of all of the techniques, but if done correctly, it really does bring a picture to life.
HINT: Make sure that you keep the pen up straight in a vertical position so you avoid smearing the ink.
Scribble Lines:

Scribble lines are sketchy lines, which loop, twist their way around, and about in many different ways. These type of lines are also very loose, whimsical, and they move around the object in that fashion. They may be as long or as short, as you desire them to be.

Wavy Lines:

Wavy lines are lines that are drawn side by side a grain-like rippling pattern.

Crisscross Lines (Furry Lines):
Crisscross lines are the type of lines that appear hair like, which are placed side by side, and follow the shape of the object, like contour lines. These lines are allowed to cross, and over lap in any random manner that you choose.
